GOP Rep. against health bill says he ‘won’t be arm-twisted’

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – A Republican congressman from New Jersey opposed to the health care overhaul says he “won’t be arm-twisted” to support it.

Rep. Frank LoBiondo on Twitter reiterated that he will vote no on the measure and asked people to stop “calling hourly.”

He says that caseworkers in his office need the phones free to help residents in his district.

LoBiondo is one of three New Jersey Republican congressmen who say they plan to vote no when the House votes Friday.

He says that changes made by GOP leadership Thursday night strengthened his no vote and that changes to the essential benefit section would be a big issue for his southern New Jersey district.

Reps. Leonard Lance and Chris Smith also plan to vote no.
