Donald Trump vows to ‘spare no effort’ to find American missing in Iran for 10 years

The White House said President Trump is “unwavering” in his determination to bring home CIA contractor Robert Levinson, who went missing in Iran 10 years ago on Thursday.

“We want him back, and we will spare no effort to achieve that goal,” said White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Mr. Levinson, a former FBI agent who would turn 69 tomorrow, vanished from Kish Island, Iran, while reportedly investigating cigarette smuggling in the Middle East. Iranian officials have insisted they don’t have any information about his whereabouts or his fate.

Mr. Spicer said the administration is “unwavering in its commitment” to find him and bring him home.

“The Levinson family has suffered far too much during the last decade due to the absence of Mr. Levinson, a loving father, brother, husband, grandfather and friend to many,” he said. “Each and every day, but especially today, our hearts are with the Levinson family. We will not rest until this case is resolved.”

The White House encouraged anyone with information about the case to contact the FBI at http://tips.fbi.gov or email the FBI at levinsonfbireward@ic.fbi.gov. A $ 5 million reward is available for information that leads to his location and safe return.
